1549 – The First Whisky from Binche

When two passionate artisans from Binche combine their expertise, a unique project is born: a deeply local, ambitious whisky steeped in history. 🤝

On one side, Brasserie La Binchoise and Bruno Deghorain's brewing expertise 🍺.
On the other, Plus Oultre Distillery and Jérôme Urbain's distilling expertise 🥃.

Together, they imagined and created the very first 100% Binche whisky. An adventure born during the Covid period 🌱, around a simple yet ambitious idea: to transform an organic wash brewed in Binche into a true characterful Belgian artisan whisky.

After distillation, the spirit patiently aged for four years ⏳ in a combination of carefully selected casks: American bourbon barrels 🇺🇸 bringing roundness and vanilla, paired with French XO armagnac casks 🇫🇷 offering depth, elegance and aromatic complexity.

The result is a generous, refined whisky with a beautiful honey colour 🍯, revealing a rich, silky texture and a full, balanced aromatic profile. It offers fruity notes 🍎🍐, elegant woody touches, lovely vanilla roundness and a warm finish that highlights the full work of time and ageing.

Marketed under the name 1549 👑, this whisky pays tribute to the famous Triumphs of Binche and the city's history. More than a spirit, it symbolises the meeting of heritage, local craftsmanship and passion.
